MATERIAL SIZE REDUCTION AT ITS FINEST

United Mobile Shredding offers flexible and efficient waste processing at your site. With 12 preset operating programs, our TANA mobile shredder can process a variety of waste streams, including tires, Construction & Demolition, mattresses and furniture, green and wood waste, and Municipal Solid Waste.

MONTANA PROJECT

Background: A Montana landfill struggled with the ongoing influx of used tires, lacking an economical solution for long-term disposal. This tire buildup not only took up valuable space but also created environmental risks such as leaching, methane gas entrapment, tire resurfacing, and providing breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Craig Hunter, President of Tire Reclaim, provided a solution through the United Mobile Shredding service to reduce the size of the tires for proper disposal or recycling.

Implementation: The TANA 440DT mobile shredder was deployed to handle the tire recycling process. This robust machine was chosen for its ability to efficiently reduce the size of tires, making them easier to manage and transport. The shredder’s adjustable particle size control allowed the landfill to produce uniform tire shreds, which could be buried or recycled into construction materials or fuel.

Performance: The TANA 440DT demonstrated exceptional performance in the field. Its powerful shredding capabilities enabled the landfill to process large volumes of tires quickly and efficiently. The integrated overband magnets effectively separated metal components from the shredded tires, enhancing the quality of the recycled material.

Benefits

  • Space Optimization: By reducing the size of the tires, the landfill was able to free up significant space, extending its operational lifespan. The TANA 440DT allows full control over the particle size, ranging from 50 to 500 mm, which can be adjusted to meet specific requirements.

  • Cost Efficiency: The one-pass shredding process reduced operational costs and improved overall efficiency.

  • Environmental Impact: Shredded tires were either buried at the landfill or removed by Tire Reclaim for recycling. This approach helped mitigate environmental hazards and promote sustainable waste management practices.
